[ mood | chillin ]

hello my name is andrew, this is my first post. i was wondering if anyone in this community is a blue devil member because id like to get in touch with some of their pit members because i would like to try out for the 06 season. ive marched kiwanis Kavies the past 3 years and im taking this summer off. but id really like to get a feel for the BD pit to make sure its where id like my drum corps home to be...assuming i dont get cut.

I haven't written here in awhile, and it looks like no one else has either. So I just thought I would bring up the issue of the BD's next summer tour..did you know that before all the major DCI stuff starts here in America that they're going to be touring parts of Europe (such as Italy, etc.)? I heard that yesterday from a member, and thought it sounded was pretty cool :)

Hello everybody! My name is Jacob and i have been an avid Blue Devil's fan since i was first introduced to them in 2000. I have been marching baritone since the 00/01 marching band season and recently just graduated from high school in Santa Barbara CA. I auditioned last year and had a spot on their 2004 baritone line, but i decided to tour europe with my high school jazz band instead. I look forward to getting to know all our you!

Marching Shows for the coming year [13 Aug 2004|02:48pm]

[ mood | accomplished ]

I was just wondering (for those of you who are in marching bands) what shows some of you are going to do, and if there are any marching invitationals you might be attending? My college marcing band does 3-4 shows a year; so far, the definate shows are:

music from Gloria Estefan and the Miami Sound Machine
music from "Appalacian Spring"

Hey everyone! Names Melissa and i've been a BD fan from the moment i've heard of them. My instructor is in the BD. This is actually her last year in it. Staysha Davis. We love her so much. This coming year will be her 2nd year teaching us. She helped us tremendously last year and we placed 2nd at WGASC.
But anyways, i'm thinking about joining the BD once i'm out of HS. Does anyone know how the tryouts go for colorguard? Just to give me a heads up on what to expect. But yah, i'm excited about this community. Cuz we all love the BD! <3

So, it looks like the Cavies are the champs for this season. I can't say I'm not disappointed, but I know BD had a great season (and I'm still completely in love with the trumpet soloist.) It just makes me all the more excited about next year's show. :)

Hate to say it ... [07 Aug 2004|05:09pm]

Hate to say it guys, but I think the Cavvies are bringing it home this year. :(

I'm still rooting for the BDs, but they really gotta pick it up if they wanna win

new to the group... [04 Aug 2004|04:17pm]

Hi, my name is nick, been a DCI fan since '94, and I am currently a music major in Texas. Of note would be that one of my old band directors marched Blue Devils back in the '80s. I hope to teach marching band and jazz band once I get out of college. Hope to get to know everyone here!

I saw the Blue Devils last night (for my second but sadly last time this season)in Indy. Of course they were absolutely phenomonal, like always, and won the show. I went down to the lower level of the stadium right up close to the field to watch the encore with my friends so we could see our hot euphonium friend Steve and hear the show again. It was even better than before, and I cannot wait to see them on TV for finals. :)

Last night my dad looked up the average of all the scores for the season so far, and BD is in first place (just narrowly edging out the Cavaliers.) If that continues, there certainly could be another championship ahead for them *crosses fingers*

Soloists [27 Jul 2004|04:02am]

Does anyone know the names of the solists in the BDs show this year? I'm generally thinking of the two-three trumpets. I can't remember if there were others and I don't feel like listening to it to find out. Can anyone help?
